Skeleton Cupcakes: A Deconstruction

Found on weheartit.com
Hey Mr. Bones! Lookin' spooky! Unfortunately, there isn't a recipe attached to these Halloween cupcakes so I decided to try to figure out how to make them based on the picture. Personally, it looks like the hat is made of an upside down mini cupcake and some sort of chocolate wafer or candy. The eyes look like m&ms, black licorice pieces for the nose, maybe piping for the teeth? I think those could be substituted with tic-tacs. The skull is a little more tricky, from this angle it looks like it's made out of a blob of frosting...which would make sense since there isn't a definitive frosted top on these cupcakes. Hope this helped for those of you who might want to try these out!

Ghosts in the Graveyard Cupcakes

These spooky Ghosts in the Graveyard cupcakes were made by Love From the Oven. McCormick sent her a box of Halloween candy to see what her and her daughter would come up with.

They made orange velvet cupcakes and decorated them with all different kinds of candy. Not only did they make Ghosts in the Graveyard cupcakes, they also made eyeballs, vampires, spiders, black cats, and skeleton cupcakes!

How to Decorate: Skeleton Cupcakes

Can you handle the cuteness that are these Skeleton Cupcakes? I can't. But, with these simple to follow directions from Better Homes and Gardens you can create your own adorably delicious skeleton treats!

To make the cupcake, follow these steps:
    1. Place a large candy mint on top of a chocolate frosted cupcake; decorate face with icing.
    2. Arrange licorice pastels to make arms and legs.
    3. Place small mints at the bottom of the legs for the skeleton's feet.
    4. Use white sprinkles to make the skeleton's ribs.
