A collection of Eggnog Cupcakes

This is the first year that I've ever enjoyed a glass of cold eggnog.  Maybe my tastes are changing, maybe it's because I'm pregnant... who knows.  I tried cinnamon eggnog not too long ago and fell in love.   I got inspired and combined that cinnamon eggnog and another holiday favorite of mine, bourbon.

Holiday Cupcakes from Fields of Cake

With the Holiday season upon us... I thought I'd put together a collection of cupcakes from one of my most favorite bakers, Carrie of Fields of Cake!

Right now, Carrie is in Crete, Greece visiting her husband ( SO JEALOUS ) but will be returning back to the states in 2012 to continue her baking adventures! These are cupcakes from holiday's past and are really so stinking cute, I had to share!

"Cuppie" CakeSpy cupcakes by New York Cupcakes

In case you've been living under a rock and haven't heard yet, the fabulous Jessie Oleson of CakeSpy has a NEW BOOK out:  CakeSpy presents:  Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life.  And if you don't already own a copy RUSH to your nearest bookstore and BUY ONE!

Anyhoo... last week, Jessie hosted a book launch party at her shop in Seattle.  Totally sad I don't live in Seattle anymore because I totally would have been there too!!! UGH!  But anyways... at this sweet party, New York Cupcakes provided a display of cupcakes... and guess who they looked like?  Jessie's sweet cupcake cartoon creations, CUPPIE!  Check out these pictures of the sweetest cupcake EVER!

Wonder where they got those cute wrappers?  Those come from Carrie of Bella Cupcake Couture!  Just flipped them inside out to create the perfect outfit for Cuppie!!

Chocolate & Banana Cupcakes (with recipe link!)

So, I've been a baking and blogging slacker these last couple of weeks.... Well, let's keep it real here, the last couple of months.  I've been baking some, but not blogging.  *le sigh*

Today, I baked and blogged... at the same time! Can you believe it?  HA! :)  I made banana cupcakes filled with chocolate chips topped with peanut butter buttercream, a chocolate drizzle and a fresh banana slice!

Wowzers, that's a mouthful!

I think they turned out pretty good too, don't you?!

Authentic Oktoberfest Cupcakes

Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is in full swing!  With it's final weekend coming up... I wanted to share with you some amazing Oktoberfest cupcakes from Munich's only cupcake shop!

Iris, co-owner of Wir Machen Cupcakes, sent me these pictures...

These cupcakes are a take on the traditional German ginerbread hearts called Lebkuchenherzen which can be found at Oktoberfest and most large German fests! (I've had my fair share of them! Yummy!)

When my husband, daughter and I went to Oktoberfest two weeks ago in Munich, we noticed that almost all the women were wearing the traditional German dress, the dirndl.  These cupcakes that Wir Machen Cupcakes made are based on just that style of dress!  Boobs and all! 

Next year... I'm definitely wearing a dirndl to Oktoberfest!
