Burwell General Store Recipe Swap via Linda Eckhardt

Burnt sugar cupcake with caramel frosting. That sounds so scrumptious and appealing I am gonna say it again, slowly: Burnt. Sugar. Cupcake. With caramel frosting...

Photo by Linda Eckhardt, used with permission.

This stunning cupcake can be made in many forms -- a cake, a layer cake, a bombe (as Linda Eckhardt experimented with here, baking hers in the mixing bowl of a Kitchen Aid stand mixer!), but we like it best as a cupcake. A delicious, individual, special caramel-y treat.

You can download the recipe here (a .docx document) or just visit Linda's site, Everybody Eats News, which focuses on sustainable living and eating. I admit to being a fan of Linda's so I extra-encourage you all to peruse her site. She hasn't won her James Beard prizes and Julia Child award for no reason!

Caramel pecan cupcakes to drool/die for!

Aren't these amazing looking? They're by Brown Sugar Bakeshop of Little Rock, Arkansas, via their Facebook page, as are the chocolate chip cupcakes. I love the way caramel looks and tastes!

chocolate caramel PRETZEL cupcakes with recipe link!

What better snack combination is there than pretzels and chocolate??

Pretzels and chocolate and CARAMEL!!!

Inspired by the cupcakeproject's chocolate pretzel cupcakes-- I decided that homemade caramel filling and drizzle would be a great addition to these flavor profiles and indulged myself with this fabulous dessert.

Pretzel crusts+chocolate cake+caramel/ganache filling+ganache dipping+pretzel caramel topping= I ate a dozen of these in like 3 days.

Caramel-covered Snickers cupcakes by Annie's Eats plus recipe link

Wow...Snickers is right up there in my top 3 favorite candy bars, so these look extra delicious. Get the recipe at Annie's Eats, who you can also keep up with on Facebook. Via Endless Simmer. From the post:

The final version consists of a chocolate cupcake, filled with a caramel-Snickers mixture, topped with caramel buttercream and garnished with additional Snickers and caramel sauce. Rich as can be, and full of Snickers flavor, these are a decadent treat to say the least.

Mini-Macaron Cupcakes

Cupcakes and macarons are pretty darn cute by themselves, but when you put them together and the macarons are mini-macarons, they’re “baby panda cute”.  At least they are to the people over at CupcakeProject, and I have to say I agree with them %100.

First, she made mini-macarons with ganache filling and then made angel food cake cupcakes with caramel frosting.  I love the colors she decided to use for the macarons.  They match the cupcake liners and the brightness adds to their cuteness.

To check out the full post and how to make mini-macarons, head over to CupcakeProject.
