New Cupcake Place In DC: Olivia's Cupcakes

For Southeast DC, there's a new cupcake place in town. Olivia's Cupcakes is a new family business opened by Cindy and Bob Bullock, along with their college age daughters, Kristina Olivia and 18-year-old Alexis Royal. This is the first gourmet cupcake bakery in Anacostia which is a predominately African American neighborhood in Washington, DC. In addition to selling cupcakes, Olivia is also a princess party space where young girls can play dress up and have tea parties. "We can give back to the community by hiring locally,” said Bob . You can follow Olivia's on Twitter.Read more: http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/dc/princess-themed-cupcake-business-opens-in-southeast-dc-101711#.Tp7v09LPMEE.twitter#ixzz1bFG6JEEH

Georgetown Cupcake owners to unveil exclusive new cupcake flavors on QVC

Via this press release, some news about Georgetown Cupcake owners and reality TV stars Katherine Kallinis and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne, whose cookbook The Cupcake Diaries will be published November 8th, and who will be opening their New York City bakery soon as well.

The queens of Georgetown Cupcake and stars of the TLC series DC Cupcakes Katherine Kallinis and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne are scheduled to appear on QVC Sunday, October 23 at noon (ET) with their popular cupcakes and to launch their first book The Cupcake Diaries: Recipes and Memories from the Sisters of Georgetown Cupcake.

During the QVC program In the Kitchen with David®, the sisters will give viewers an inside look at the inspiration behind The Cupcake Diaries, which chronicles their sweet success after choosing cupcakes over the corporate world. The new book not only reveals their secrets of building a nationally recognized business but also offers readers 42 recipes, including the bestselling red velvet cupcake and their grandmother’s Greek Easter bread. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase The Cupcake Diaries more than two weeks in advance of its release date.

As the sisters share stories and recipes, they will also offer the cupcakes that started a craze by the dozen to QVC shoppers nationwide. The Georgetown Cupcake Gourmet Cupcake Assortment consists of six of the most popular flavors, including lava fudge and salted caramel, plus six flavors exclusive to QVC. The new flavors are chocolate toffee crunch, apple crumble, chocolate marshmallow, maple walnut crunch, chocolate peanut butter caramel fudge, and citrus blossom.

Their Facebook page features daily trivia, where you can win cupcakes, and news about this month's special flavors: pumpkin spice and maple chocolate chip, and they also have 2 Halloween specials. Visit georgetowncupcake.com for details (they also do mail order).
